Celebrities who have starred in biopics

Actress Lindsay Lohan recently landed the role of screen legend Elizabeth Taylor in a movie about the life of the star, who died last year. The 25-year-old ‘Mean Girls’ star says she “honoured” to be portraying Elizabeth in the film, which is based on the ‘Cleopatra’ star’s love affair with Richard Burton.

Lindsay joins a long list of stars who have appeared in biopics, most recently Michelle Williams played Marilyn Monroe in ‘My Week with Marilyn’ and Meryl Streep recently won the Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

And Meryl isn’t the only star to win an Academy Award for portraying a famous personality, Jamie Foxx also landed one after playing Ray Charles in ‘Ray’ and Nicole Kidman won an Oscar for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in ‘The Hours’.
