Charlize Theron shaves her head
She may be one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood, but that hasn’t stopped Charlize Theron from shaving her head for a new role.
The 36-year-old star was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills, California, yesterday (June 11) with her adopted son Jackson, sporting a closely-cropped look that was a far cry from her usual flowing golden locks.
It is believed the South African beauty has opted for the extreme look for her upcoming role as Furiosa in the new ‘Mad Max’ film opposite Tom Hardy, 34, which is due to begin shooting this summer following a two-year delay.
“It's been three years. It's time to skin this cat already!" she recently told Us Weekly magazine. "The original ‘Mad Max’ created such a vivid world, so to go back and re-imagine it and re-play in that sandbox sounds like fun to me. It’s a really challenging piece of material. I feel very lucky.”
In shaving her head, Charlize is following in the footsteps of the likes of Natalie Portman, 31, and Sigourney Weaver, 62, who have previously lopped off their locks for movie roles.
Just 11 days ago, the ‘Monster’ actress showed off her flowing blonde locks at the ‘Prometheus’ premiere as she walked the red carpet alongside co-stars Noomi Rapace, 32, Michael Fassbender, 35, and Logan Marshall-Green, 35.
