Keira Knightley engaged to rocker boyfriend

Keira Knightley is engaged to marry her rocker boyfriend, James Righton.

The 27-year-old actress began dating the Klaxons keyboard player early last year after the couple were introduced by their mutual friend, TV presenter Alexa Chung, 28.

After 15 months of dating, the 28-year-old musician has got down on one knee and popped the question.

“I can confirm that Keira is engaged to be married to James Righton,” Keira’s spokesperson said in a statement. “We are not discussing any further details.”

Neither Keira nor James have ever publicly confirmed their relationship, but the ‘Pride and Prejudice’ actress took the rocker to her brother’s wedding as a guest late last year.

Keira has remained fiercely guarded about her private life, as she thinks giving away too many details ruins movies for her fans.

“I hate knowing too much when I’m going to the cinema and watching as a viewer,” she previously told Interview magazine. “I don’t want to know that the actor has just gone through a divorce. I don’t want to know that the person is an alcoholic. It just gets in the way of my pleasure of watching the character.

“Everybody knows absolutely everything, so I wonder whether it suddenly changes what we see. I think it does change something, and not for the better. I like watching films when I don’t know anything about the people.”

Keira previously had a two-year relationship with actor Jamie Dornan, 30, and then dated her ‘Pride and Prejudice’ co-star Rupert Friend, 30, for five years.
