Khloe Kardashian: "Kim and Kanye aren’t serious"
They might have stepped out holding hands last night, but Khloe Kardashian insists her sister Kim’s relationship with Kanye West isn’t “serious”.
The 31-year-old socialite and the ‘Gold Digger’ rapper have been spotted out and about in New York on a series of dates in recent weeks, but Khloe, 27, claims their romance is only just getting off the ground.
“I don't think it's serious. I think it's too soon,” she told ‘Watch What Happens Live’ host Andy Cohen. “But because they've been friends for so long, it's just so easy and that's something I love seeing for Kim - the easiness and how happy she is.
“And it's just more of a great friendship and friendships make the best relationships.”
Khloe, who is married to basketball star Lamar Odom, 32, admitted Kanye, 34, is “great” with her family, and having known them for so long, he is aware of the media “hurricane” he is letting himself in for that comes with dating Kim.
“We've known Kanye for like nine years,” she added. “He's great with the family, but again we've known him for so long. It's not like some stranger getting into a hurricane.”
Kim’s new relationship comes after she filed for divorce from basketball star Kris Humphries, 27, in October, just 72 days after they tied the knot.
But Khloe has confessed she never had a particular soft spot for the sportsman, as he rubbed her up “the wrong way” on their first meeting by insinuating her marriage to Lamar was fake.
She explained: “One of the first things that came out of his mouth - like within the first five minutes - was, 'So, how much you getting paid to fake your marriage? Like how long are you gonna keep this up for?'
“And I was like, ‘Okay, dude, I don't know if you're trying to make me laugh’. But he just rubbed me the wrong way. So ever since then I had a very defensive wall brought up. I'm a very good judge of character, if I do say so myself.”
Despite Khloe’s claims that their relationship isn’t serious, Kim took Kanye along to the opening of new restaurant RYU last night (April 23), which is owned by Scott Disick, 28, the boyfriend of her older sister Kourtney, 33.
The new couple arrived at the New York eatery holding hands and spent the evening with the entire Kardashian family.
