27-year-old royal "longing" to be a father

He’s been linked to a whole host of beautiful women, but Prince Harry is searching for that special someone to settle down with.

The 27-year-old royal explained despite his party-loving lifestyle, he is keen to find the right girl so he can become a father in the not too distant future, as he has wanted children since he was “very, very young”.

“I've longed for kids since I was very, very young," Harry said in an interview with Katie Couric for ABC special ‘The Jubilee Queen’. "And so I'm just waiting to find the right person, someone who's willing to take on the job."

Prince Harry’s six-year on-off relationship with trainee solicitor Chelsy Davy, 26, came to an end in 2009, but the couple are still close friends.

However, the prince wishes a girlfriend could have accompanied on his first solo royal tour in March, as he thinks it would have been an “easier” experience if he was part of a couple.

“I’ve always said that it’d probably be easier as a couple,” he explained. “I don’t have anyone. I wasn’t allowed to bring anybody with me.”

Harry also spoke out about his relationship with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, confessing while he and elder brother Prince William, 29, are sometimes a bit too “cheeky”, his regal relative is always there to listen to him.

“I’m probably a bit of a cheeky grandson like my brother as well. We both tend to take the mickey a bit much,” he said. “But she listens. She’s a very good listener. So if you do ever have problems, you can share them with her and she will listen and she will try and help ... but otherwise, she sort of lets you get on with your own life.

‘You know when you’re in her bad books. I’ve seen the way the corgis get told off when they’re in trouble.”
