Studio 54 reopens for 'One Night Only'
The glory days of New York's late '70's disco scene were revived for one night only earlier this week when the iconic Studio 54 swung open its doors for the first time in 20 years.
A host of stars including Cameron Diaz, Bar Refaeli and British supermodel Naomi Campbell turned out Tuesday (Oct' 18th) for the one-off reunion party - organized by New York based radio station Sirius XM.
Former owner Ian Schrager and the club's old doormen Marc Benecke and Richie Notar were also in attendance as the venue sought to recapture its 70's and 80s heyday, while scantily clad busboys served drinks to the star-studded guest list late into the night.
“I’ve turned down Studio 54 parties for 30 years, but I couldn’t miss this. It was like a time capsule taking me back, very nostalgic," Schrager, who co-owned the club until 1986, told the New York Post. "We don’t have anything like that in New York now. It was a spectacle, and it was great fun.”
